About me...
As a child I was encouraged to use my imagination and through books it could soar. I could walk through Narnia with Aslan, the Big Woods with Laura Ingalls and watch the world go by on Mulberry Street. In a book, there was always a new friend and another world to discover. I also loved to draw, so when I grew up I packed all my books and went off to college where I got a degree in painting. Then I spent several years in New York City working in graphic design and fine arts, creating illustrations for travel publications, toy manufacturers and product designers.
But my love affair with children’s books never ended. Before I had children, I would linger in the children’s section of the bookstore, unable to resist purchasing the latest richly illustrated picture book. Currently, I am focusing on writing and illustrating children’s books. I still haunt the children’s sections of bookstores, but now I have my two children in tow. It has been wonderful to share my love of reading with them and watch them become avid readers.
I live in a small town in Connecticut with my husband, two children, and a dog and a cat. I love being close enough to visit New York City but living in the country with stars in the sky, ponds to swim in, and room to hike through the woods.
It's a lovely life. And a good place to sit while reading a good book.
