About me: I have always loved to draw and paint. I love the scratchy feel of a charcoal pencil on paper, the flow of paint as the colors mix, the smells of oil paints and pastels.  As a child I would just doodle and watch as my hand created people or creatures that I had never seen. People would frequently ask - "Who is that?" But I had no idea. The images just appeared.

I found my way to college where I studied painting and printmaking. After teaching art briefly, I ended up in New York City working in the world of graphic design for retail and packaging mainly. I enjoyed the art that I saw all around me in the city - in museums, galleries, and on the streets. I also liked the things I saw that wouldn't have been labeled "art" by other folks (the grafitti in the subways, faded billboards etc). Sometimes I did art for other people, sometimes for myself. Eventually I moved out of NYC with my family and am now able to spend more of my time doing art just for me.

I still watch my hand as I draw or paint and often wonder where the ideas are coming from. Sometimes I know, sometimes I don't...But I don't care..it's just fun.
