Floorcloths: A floorcloth is a piece of heavy canvas that has been primed, decorated, and varnished for use as a floor covering. They were popular in Colonial New England and were traditionally created using oil paint. Modern floorcloths are usually created with acrylic paint. Once protected by several coats of varnish the artwork becomes extremely durable.
